Heather graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she participated in numerous public service programs including a federal externship involving habeas corpus death penalty defense and prisoner’s rights advocacy. Heather also served as an orientation chair for first year law students and served as a first-year representative on the committee to select a new dean of admissions.
Heather received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Speech Communications. Heather was also involved in numerous student organizations while maintaining her status in the honor’s program at Texas A&M.
Heather began her legal career at Bryan Cave LLC, a full-service, international law firm with a wide range of practice areas and offices in 29 cities. While at Bryan Cave, she garnered experience in numerous practice areas including commercial litigation, contractual disputes, arbitration, mortgage litigation, franchise litigation, patent litigation and bankruptcy.
While at Bryan Cave, Heather also served as the chair of both the Los Angeles Office’s Sustainability Committee and the Los Angeles Office’s Community Involvement Committee, in addition to maintaining an active pro bono practice which included cases involving animal rights law, asylum and adoption proceedings.
Heather continued her legal career at Lon B. Isaacson Associates, a small plaintiffs’ firm where, in addition to serving as the office’s managing attorney, she expanded her practice to include personal injury/wrongful death actions, unlawful detainer actions, employment disputes, arbitration and family law.
In an effort to incorporate the strength of these two diverse firms, Heather joined with her colleague, Jessica M. Mandelberg, in 2009, to found the Law Offices of Mandelberg & Orr, the predecessor to the Law Offices of Heather S. Orr, where she further expanded her practice to include complex civil rights litigation, consumer protection litigation and transactional legal services.
Heather Orr teaches a law school course in business planning as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School and serves as the President of the West Los Angeles Chapter of TEAM Referral Network. Heather also founded the Lawyer's Roundtable, an organization where attorneys in different practice areas utilize one another's expertise to better support their clients.
Today, Heather lives in Beverly Hills, California with her German Shepherd, Delilah. Her appetite for competition extends beyond the courtroom as she plays softball, football and tennis. She's also currently in the process of getting her skydiving license. Heather is an avid reader and a writer and travels back to the south to visit her family and friends whenever time allows.
